What the heck is Inktober?
Inktober is a drawing challenge started in 2009 by artist Jake Parker as a way to strengthen his traditional drawing skills. He posted his drawings online, and it quickly went viral. Since then it has developed into a worldwide annual event with artists from all over the world participating.
Who can participate?
Anyone!
Do I have to use ink only?
No! Sketch it first in pencil then ink over it. Or draw with ink only. Or draw with ink and colored pencils. Or use watercolor! We really don’t care what you use, just have fun drawing!
A drawing every day?
Only if you want to. A drawing a day, a drawing a week, or however many drawings you feel like doing during the month is fine.
What do I do with my finished drawings?
Just drop your finished drawings at the Inktober station outside the 7A kitchen, and we’ll take care of adding it to the Inktober display wall.
What is the point of all this?
Inktober is just a fun way to stretch your creative muscles.
All the inktober drawings will be sold to raise money for charity at this year’s AT Holiday Market.
Any tips or pointers for those of us who don’t draw often?
